Miami, Florida

Miami is an American city in Florida that was founded in 1986. The city has 433.136 habitants and it is one of the most populated cities of United States. It is considerate an important city in terms of trade, finances, media, entertainment, art and International business.





Location
The city is located in the southeast of Florida near to the river Miami between the Everglades and the Atlantic Ocean. Miami is one of the most little cities in United States; it has a square of 143.15 km2 what it means that live more than 400000 people in 91km2. Miami is the only city in EEUU that has border with two parks, the National Park of Everglades in the west and the Vizcaino National Park in the east.




                                                      
Weather
Miami has a tropical weather. It has hot and wet summers and temperate and dry winters. In general, the city doesn’t descend from the 3ºC and doesn’t pass the 40ºC. The rainy season is during the summer and sometimes there are hurricanes during the humid season.




Spoken languages
Miami has a wide variety of spoken languages. It has the third biggest Spanish-speaking population in EEUU behind San José and New York which is the first. Since 2008 the Spanish language has been the first language spoken with almost the 70% of the population.







Popular music
Miami has a huge variety of music. The Cuban population brought “la conga” and “la rumba” and the Dominican population brought “bachata” and “merengue”. Miami is considerate the free style city too where the dance music, electro music, hip hop and disco became very popular during the 90’s.





                                                                
                                                              Sports

The city has four big teams that play inside the North American leagues. The football team Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat that plays in the NBA, Florida Marlins that plays in the baseball league and Florida Panthers that plays in the Hockey league. Moreover, in Miami exists other sports such as soccer, tennis, golf and jai alai, a traditional sport played in Florida since the XX century.
